(C2151 Fiery Hill Road, Barnt Green) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2151 Fiery Hill Road from its junction with B4120 Kendall End Road to its junction with Cherry Hill Drive (Private).

Reason: Footway reconstruction by WCC.

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2151 Fiery Hill Road, C2151 Shepley Road, C2151 Brookhouse Road,
C2151 Linehouse Lane, B4096 Old Birmingham Road, B4096 Rose Hill, B4120 Barnt Green Road, B4120 Kendal End Road and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 monthsAnticipated duration: 6 days Commencing: 20 June 2022

Barnt Green Blossom Walk Saturday 7th May 2022

Walk to Fruitfields Orchard. Meet at Millennium Arch at 2PM. Walk to the Orchard about four miles – arrive about 4PM. Walk back 2 miles so arrive around 6PM. The walk is free to join.

At the Orchard -On Saturday 7th May all afternoon we’ll have apple juice, cider and honey on sale, welly wanging, apple wizard races, beautiful blossom on the fruit trees and more besides! It’s an opportunity to take a stroll around the orchard, see unusual apple tree varieties and savour nature at its best.

Parish Councillor Vacancy

THERE IS ONE VACANCY ON BARNT GREEN PARISH COUNCIL COULD YOU FILL IT?

This is what we do:

– we meet monthly to discuss and act on local council issues that affect the Barnt Green community

– we represent the community

– we look after Millennium Park, Barnt Green playing field, benches, bus shelter, footpath lighting and planters

– we are consulted on planning applications

– we can provide support to voluntary bodies

– we operate the Lengthsman’s scheme

– we liaise with partner organisations such as County and District Councils and other statutory bodies

– we issue a bi-annual newsletter… among other things

There will be a co-option date: 16 May 2022 so please respond by Monday 9th May 2022 by the latest

NOTICE OF CASUAL VACANCY

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy has occurred for a Councillor in the of Parish Council of Bamt Green.

 

An election to fill the casual vacancy shall be held if notice in writing of a request* for such an election has been given by TEN local government electors for the parish to the Returning Officer, Bromsgrove District Council, Parkside, Market Street, Bromsgrove, B61 SDA by 11th April 2022.

If no such notice is given, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co­ option.

Worcestershire COVID-19 Impact Focus Groups – Community Grants

Worcestershire Public Health is looking for community groups and providers to run a series of COVID-19 impact focus groups.  Grants of £2,000 are available to deliver targeted focus group conversations about covid impact.  These conversations will explore beliefs and attitudes to being well since the pandemic, how behaviours may have changed and the support that has been accessed, with communities that are rarely heard from.
