Worcestershire will move to a North and South unitary council model
The Government has confirmed that Worcestershire will move to a North and South unitary council model.
Council leaders have committed to working together to ensure a smooth transition, protect services, and make sure communities across Worcestershire continue to have a strong voice.
The next step is developing a business implementation plan, ahead of elections for shadow unitary authorities in May 2027, with the new councils expected to be formally established in 2028.
We’ll keep you updated as more announcements are made.
