CCTV Infrastructure in Bromsgrove District – Have Your Say
Bromsgrove District Council are undertaking a public consultation on CCTV in your area.
CCTV infrastructure in Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Hagley, Hollywood, Rubery and Wythall could be upgraded from analogue to more efficient modern digital standards, including new movable CCTV cameras that can be deployed to areas of concern, after funding was granted to the North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership by the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and matched by Bromsgrove District Council. A consultation to gauge local opinion in those areas will now run for six weeks from Monday (April 29) until 5pm on Monday June 10. Through a short survey, people in each area will be able to indicate their priorities for CCTV and what they think about current local camera locations. Judith Willis, the district council’s Head of Community Services, said: “This project is an opportunity to make our CCTV services more efficient and fit for the future, so please take this opportunity to have your say as the current arrangements are reviewed. Understanding how CCTV is perceived locally will help us direct resources to where they’re needed most.” The short survey will be available at www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/consultations or a paper copy can be requested by calling 01527 64252 Ext 3833.
