(C2174 Hewell Road, Barnt Green) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2174 Hewell Rd from its junction with B4120 Bittell Rd to its junction with U23220 Hewell Ln.
Reason: Footway resurfacing by WCC

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: B4120 Bittell Rd, C2151 Fiery Hill Rd, C2151 Brookhouse Rd, C2151 Little Heath Ln, B4096 Alcester Rd, C2157 Green Hill, C2157 Linthurst Newton, C2174 Blackwell Rd and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 MonthsAnticipated duration: 3 days between 10 September 2025 and 22 September 2025

PUBLIC NOTICE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF THE CLOSURE OF C2173 AQUEDUCT LANE, ALVECHURCH, WORCESTERSHIRE (“THE HIGHWAY”)

 

Reason for restriction: Burst water main. There is a likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road.  There is a need to close the highway in the following terms:-

 

  1. The effect of this Notice is that no vehicle shall proceed along that part of the highway from its junction with C2161 Sandhills Green for a distance of 200 metres in an easterly direction.

 

  1. This provision shall continue in force for a maximum of 21 days; however, it is anticipated that it will remain in force for 5 days (24hrs) commencing 1 August 2025.

 

  1. Alternative routes: C2161 Sandhills Green, C2161 Callow Hill Road, C2161 Tanyard Lane, C2291 Birmingham Road, C2173 Aqueduct Lane (part) and vice versa.

 

Nothing in this Notice shall prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the highway, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from the highway.

Barnt Green Parish Council response to Bromsgrove Council’s Draft Development Strategy – survey closes Friday 22nd August 2025

Dear Resident

You may by now have seen that Bromsgrove District Council (BDC) has launched a public consultation on its Draft Development Strategy to 2043. This Plan is BDC’s response to the Government’s call for increased housing and proposes the sites within the Council’s area where new housing should be built.

Barnt Green Parish Council (BGPC) recommends that you look at these plans, please see links below.

There are different ways in which you can convey your thoughts on the proposals.

We recommend that you respond by 22 September to the public consultation https://bromsgroveplan.commonplace.is/

This is your opportunity to comment individually on the draft plan direct to BDC.

In addition, BGPC will be responding to the Consultation to represent the views of the residents of Barnt Green. We encourage you to participate in a short survey. This can be accessed via the links belowPaper copies of the survey can be obtained at the BGPC office at 80 Hewell Road, Barnt Green [open 09.00 to 13.00 Monday – Thursday]. This survey will close on 22 August.

BGPC will also be hosting a meeting to hear your thoughts on the proposals. This will be held at The Parish Centre, St Andrew’s Church, Sandhills Road B45 8NR on Tuesday 29 July 2025 at 19.00. Here, you will be able to discuss the proposals with fellow residents and parish councillors.

These proposals are important for the future of Barnt Green. They are probably the key opportunity for residents to influence the shape and future of the village to 2043.  We, therefore, encourage you make your views known.
